This wonderful Maya figure from the Tiquisate region of Guatemala has beautiful details, with a large necklace, scarification on one shoulder and a depiction of the Old Wind God on the other shoulder.(There is some evidence that the shoulder scarification marked the individual as a priestess to the god marked on the other shoulder, and showed that she was forever committed to service to that god). A large and important piece that stands 10" tall.
