| This is a huge Victorian paste amethyst pendant. During this time period paste jewelry was as popular and more affordable than genuine stones so it is not uncommon to find beautiful paste jewelry. This piece is heavy and measures 1 1/2 inches in length by 1 1 /4 inches in width. The setting is gold metal but does not test for gold so may be pinchbeck. It was formally a brooch and has little bits of this on the back. The stone is deep purple and in excellent condition. Circa 1900. | ||
