| This is a large brooch made and marked by "W.Bs." It has the original c-clasp and I think it dates to the Art Nouveau period based on this and the motif. It measures 1 7/8 inches in diameter, so it is almost a full two inches. It is also marked "sterling silver" under the marker's mark. The outer rim is 1/4 inch in width and has a beautiful flowers and leaves design. That theme continues on the brooch itself which has two 3/8 inch diameter flowers set with blue paste stones and one leaf on silver stems. Flying across the bottom of the flowers is a crane type bird in full flight with its wings spread and its feet up. The bird has pink enamelled wing with black dots. The bird has a royal blue and yellow body and head and a pink bill. The enamel is in very good condition with wear commensurate with age, a couple of dings - nothing noticeable with the naked eye. Circa 1900-1910. | ||
