Greek Attic pottery feeder vessel
A pottery feeder vessel with a single handle and a protruding spout, the shoulder is painted with black rays on a reserved field. There is some debate about whether these vessels were used to feed infants or to fill oil lamps. Greek, Athens, late 5th Century BC A few minor surface chips otherwise intact Size: 6.5 x 7.7 cms Formerly in the collection of a convent in Hertfordshire, UK; probably acquired in the early 20th Century.
