Egyptian bright blue faience pectoral plaque
A bright blue glazed faience plaque moulded in the stylised form of the deity Duamutef or Hapi. This plaque is from a series of four pieces representing the Four Sons of Horus which would have been sewn into the bandages of a mummy across the chest area. Egypt, Third Intermediate Period, 1050-730 BC Intact Size: 7.1 x 1.3 cms Ex. private collection, UK; acquired during the 1940's.
