This is a bowl with lid made from Satsuma earthenware in the late 19th century (1880-1900, mid-Meiji period). It is decorated with overglaze enamels, depicting playing children ("karako").
Diameter 11.5 cm (4.5"), height 8 cm (3"), no marks, excellent state without chips, cracks or repairs.
