This is a large Japanese Imari bowl from the very late Edo period (1850-70), decorated (stylised floral motifs) in underglaze blue as well as overglaze red, green, orange, aubergine and gold.
It is unmarked, has a diameter of 27 cm (11") and a height of 11 cm (4.5"). Excellent state without cracks chips or repairs. Very little wear to the enamel. |
