This is a Japanese Imari bowl from the second half of the 18th century (mid-Edo period), decorated with a flying crane and a (pine?) tree in overglaze red, black, aubergine, green and gold.
Diameter 11.5 cm (4.5"), height 6 cm (2.5"), excellent state (no chips, cracks or repairs). |
