A sculptor of Old West themes in realistic style, Vic Payne is devoted to subject matter of a bygone era, and often works in Mountain Trails Gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico, although he lives in Southern Colorado. His plans for the first decade of the years 2000 are to create Wells Fargo stagecoach replica scenes. In many ways, he has led a cowboy life. At age 10, he moved with his family from Dallas, Texas to a ranch in Lincoln County, New Mexico, where his father, artist Ken Payne, became a full-time western painter and sculptor, having retired as a crop-duster pilot. Vic spent much time in his father's studio and loved reading about Remington and Russell and also loved the life on the ranch with cows and horses. | |||||||||
