Beautiful hardwood tobacco stand from the Taisho period, circa 1920. Art deco styling. It is made of huang wahli wood and hardwood throughout. Dove tail joinery, staggered shelving. The coal holder is made of bronze with a copper knob, the opening is in the shape of the sacred god's jewel. The pipe is made of bamboo and bronze inlaid with silver. It is dcorated with horizontal bands and stylized mon charaters. The handle is a stylized rui scepter. Overall excellent condition. The base measures 11" by 11" by 9.5" tall. The coal holder adds 3" to the hight.
