|Japanese mask used in Noh or Nohgaku theater. The name of the mask is Heita which is used to portray of sunburnt mid-age warrior. It is said that the mask was based on the Kamakura period warrior, Egara Heita Tanenaga's face. Thus, the mask is often used in plays depicting the stories between the Heike and Genji clans such as Yashima, Tamura, Ebira, Kanehira, and other plays that contain a warrior character.
