|Antique Japanese pair of fighting cockerels, made of mixed metals in shokado method: bronze, gold and silver. The birds have naturalistic plumage and the fierce intensity of their fight is captured. It measures 17" tall. The bottom of one bird has a cartouche with the name, Masatsune. Meiji period: 1868-1912, circa 1900.|
