Beautiful antique Japanese isho two section tansu with hand forged iron hardware. Made of Kiri wood front and Sugi wood frame. This isho tansu is traditionally used to hold clothes and originates from Nagoya, Japan. There are five large drawers with and two small drawers in the interior of the safebox. The drawers have rounded handles and there are 6 round locks in the middle of the drawers. The sides of each section of the tansu have iron handles. Age: Meiji Period (1869-1912),from Nagoya area of Japan.
