Beautiful pair of Chinese antique chairs with inset marble seats and round glazed porcelain plaques set in back rests, one plaque has a scene with a lady and a child in a garden setting, the other has a scene of a small mountain village near a lake with figures boating. Both plaques have writing and are signed. The chairs themselves are made of beautifully grained hardwood, carved all over with bats, birds, and flowers and inlaid with mother of pearl. Legs have claw feet and are topped with lion heads. Late 19th century.
