Antique four-panel screen painting of Northern Kyoto in Japan. There are gold flecks along the top of the painting and gold clouds in the background and also floating above the city. There are recognizable landmarks, such as the Kinkakuji Golden Pavilion to the far right, with a golden phoenix atop its roof and surrounding river. The building below may be the Hokoji Temple, or Great Buddha Hall, with three monks in grey robes. There is a lot of detail and vibrancy in each painted section. Edo period (1615-1867) Size: 39.5" height, 60" length
