Ancient Chinese Fang Hu (lidded container for holding wine in ritual use). Made of bronze and encrusted with beautiful original oxidation. The faceted pear-shaped body raised on a slightly flared foot, the sides left plain, with small loops suspending rings on two sides below the rim, and relief-cast taotie mask handles. Two of the sides are outfitted with ring handles hanging from Taotie masks. Brown and milky green patina and blue-green encrustation. Purchases in the 1990's in Hong Kong for our private collection.
