| Japanese Meiji Period (c1900) two-section "Isho" tansu from the Yonezawa area, with beautiful figured Keyaki wood drawer faces and black trim with a reddish lacquered wash on the Sugi wood frame. Original finish! Iron metal fittings with the distinctive Yonezawa cherry blossom locks and "Moko" (melon) drawer pulls. Has a set of three keys, one of which opens the safe to interior drawers.
