| Very attractive antique Japanese choba tansu (merchant's chest), made of hinoki (Japanese cypress) wood with a very light natural color, iron hardware including round lock plates, 2 sets of sliding panels each covering an open compartment, top sliders have decorative copper handles, bottom section has horizontal slats, a total of 8 drawers all of different sizes, Meiji Period (1868-1912). Size: 39" high x 36 1/2" wide x 16" deep. | ||||||||
