Exceptional English Chippendale Three-Tiered Dumbwaiter in mahogany, having circular, dished shelves supported by fluted, vasiform pillars and raised on cabriole legs ending in elongated ball & claw feet with leather castors. Circa 1770.

This form of furniture was usually placed at the host's chair and carried desserts, silver, cheeses, drinks and glasses. The servants could then be excused and you could discuss things in private - hence the name "Dumbwaiter" Height: 44", Width: 23"
