Painting size: 12.75” x 17” Like the French Impressionists, Kayser-Eichberg explored the light effects of winter weather in this canvas. The dome of the Nikolaikirche dominates the dull sky at dusk, yet the snow covered rooftops of the surrounding buildings reflect bright light. Below, passages of yellow and orange delineating first story windows convey warmth as figures on the right hurry home at the day’s end.
