Woman in a Kimono at a Window Endre Komáromi-Kacz (Hungarian, 1880-1969) Oil on canvas, signed. Komáromi-Kacz dedicated many years in pursuit of his artistic education. He began at the Academy of Budapest studying under E. Balló. He then continued his studies with S. Hollosy in Holland. Following that tutelage, he traveled throughout Holland and Belgium pursuing his own course of study. He concluded his formal studies as a “master pupil” of G. Benczúr. He eventually married fellow artist, Sarolta Kiss. Both achieved recognition and success in their lifetimes. In 1924, in Budapest, he received the prestigious “Rath” prize for "Morgenstimming". Komáromi-Kacz is listed in Dictionnaire des Peintres, Sculpteurs, Dessinateurs et Graveurs by Bénézit and in Allgemeines Lexikon der bildenden Künstler von der Antike bis zu Gegenwart by Thieme/Becker.
