Museum quality Russian lacquered wood box top, made by the firm of N. Lukutin of Fedoskino. This piece dates from about 1880 -1890. This piece was once the top of a box, but is presently mounted in an ornate gilded Rococo frame dating to about 1890. The back of the piece is signed by N. Lukutin. The hand-painted signature includes three Imperial double-headed Russian eagles painted in gold, with each holding a shield with an "A" on it, indicating appointment to the household of Czar Al ...click for details
