| An essay on the history of pottery in the Holy Lands. A summary of its development from the prehistorical Neolithic period, through the Bronze age and into the Iron age is provided. Attention is given to techniques, forms and decorations as they evolved spontaneously or in response to external influences. Trade is noted not only as an influencing factor but also as an important empirical measure of historical development. Noteworthy is reference to wares of the region found in Egyptian tombs of correlating periods. | |||||||
