| Yummy deep scalloped lace enhances this supple, cool and drapey fine linen Italian sheet. Yep, I did try it out for a night before offering it to you! It sleeps heavenly, as only fine antique linen offers! After studying the lace, it most compares with a photo and description of 17th Century Genovese Bobbin Lace, in the style of Punto in Aria needle lace. The scalloped lace measures 4" deep and was fashioned to turn the corner instead of gathering up! The center cutwork and embroidered medallion, foliage and monogram "MB" is expertly embroidered by hand and measures 10 1/2" H x 23" W. There are smaller repeats on each corner. The turndown measures 29", oh! so lovely folded over your blanket! This treasure is completely hand made with even the sheet bottom hand hemstitched! Width is 89" x 99" length. There are a few broken brides in the lace and a few scattered pin holes in the linen,which are normal with age...This has at least another 100 yrs. left and should be passed on for generations! | ||
