A nicely detailed hand modeled ceramic effigy figure from Central Mexico dating ca100-750A.D. The figure measures 6" in height by 3" at the widest point and depicts a female figure wearing a long skirt partially covered by a cape. She is adorned with large circular ear ornaments and a rope shaped head piece with three round discs. The figure retains traces of the original red and dark gray/green pigments used to highlight her face and ornaments. Flat figures were quite common in West Mexico centuries before but few intact examples have come from Teotihuacan.

A Moche fineline single spout jar measuring 9" in height by 6 1/2" in width. From Northern Peru ca400-860A.D. A complex under water scene is presented with numerous creatures including fish, sea birds, a large sea urchin, and a jellyfish. The white slip is mildly abraded in places and there is a small "dimple" depression from the time of firing
but all in all the paint is strong and the creatures beautifully represented.
