A nicely detailed hand modeled ceramic effigy figure from Central Mexico dating ca100-750A.D. The figure measures 6" in height by 3" at the widest point and depicts a female figure wearing a long skirt partially covered by a cape. She is adorned with large circular ear ornaments and a rope shaped head piece with three round discs. The figure retains traces of the original red and dark gray/green pigments used to highlight her face and ornaments. Flat figures were quite common in West Mexico centuries before but few intact examples have come from Teotihuacan.

A great little whistle from Guatamala dating ca 400-860A.D. depicting a standing monkey/man figure in a somewhat challenging stance measuring 3 1/2" in height. The effigy is slightly crude in manufacture and the ears are slightly abraded from ancient use. It emits a great high pitched tone.

A stylized polychrome kero (cup) from Bolivia dating ca 200-600A.D. The vessel measures 6 1/2" in height and has a 6" diameter at the widest point near the rim. A stylized round-eyed anthropomorphic face with a long aqualine nose dominates the front of the piece. On each side of the face there is a panel depicting three feline heads. The base color is a rich dark cinnamon brown and the design elements are executed in black, white, gray, and tan.

A Moche fineline single spout jar measuring 9" in height by 6 1/2" in width. From Northern Peru ca400-860A.D. A complex under water scene is presented with numerous creatures including fish, sea birds, a large sea urchin, and a jellyfish. The white slip is mildly abraded in places and there is a small "dimple" depression from the time of firing but all in all the paint is strong and the creatures beautifully represented.

BOTH BEAUTIFUL AND RARE...This ceramic masterpiece from Northern Peru dates ca400-860A.D. It measures 16" in height by 6" in width and depicts the god AiAipec with two feline attendants. He is dressed in full regalia with a tumi shaped head piece, large ear spools, a necklace of large round discs, and a serpent belt extending out from his shoulders. Traces of white pigment outline the image. There has been minor restoration to a couple of areas of the upper trumpet and he comes complete with a museum quality stand (not pictured.)
