This simple but beautifully executed bowl measures 10" in diameter by 4" in height and dates ca1000-1250AD and was found on a private ranch in New Mexico many years ago so it meets all requirements for legality under State and Federal Law. The white slipped bowl is decorated with elongated rectangular elements as well as band of narrow black lines circling the upper interior. It is intact save for one small area in the white center region where a shovel "ding" was professionally restored. A fine example of the type for the price.

This is an exceptional example of Maya artistry at its best and has been fully authenticated. The purchaser will receive full paperwork to this effect. The feline head measures 3" in width by 3 1/4" in depth by 3 3/8" in height. To quote the official paperwork: "Pre-Columbian stone head, Jasper, Mayan, Classic Period (300 CE -900CE), Southern Mexico to Northern Central America, authentic and of the period, in the form of a feline head with an open mouth bearing fangs and teeth, the piece has re-cuts with some original tooling marks evident and has been re-polished. This piece has been examined under microscopic conditions at 45x power and suspended in an acetone bath to remove any artificially applied patina. The remaining patina was found to be original to the piece and has not been artificially applied without any restorations." The official appraisal on the artifact is $1,800.00.

This compact ceramic vessel comes from The American Southwest and dates ca1000-1250A.D. It is a Tularosa variant Anasazi jar often referred to as a "dog head" pitcher. It measures both 4" in height by 4" in diameter and is decorated with numerous geometric design elements including scrolls and both upright and inverted step pyramids. There has been minor professional restoration to a few rim chips and it appears that the head may have been cleanly broken off and re-attached at some point. The piece is legal under all current State and Federal regulations and a document stating such will accompany the purchase.

The Genius Of Man

$425.00

A fine example of Pre-Columbian Nazca art from the coast of Southern Peru. This fluted bowl dates ca 100B.C.-600A.D. and measures 6" in diameter at the rim and is 3 1/2" in height. The colors are chalk white with design elements in steel gray and rich burnt orange. The rim is adorned with 13 stylized trophy heads resting on their sides and it takes a minute to identify them. A wide band of darker purple divides the bowl in the center and the lower half has 6 more geometric designs ... possibly stylized floral motifs. The bowl is in excellent condition with numerous dendrites on the base helping to attest to its great age. A truly beautiful piece of art!
