A hand carved wooden tray covered in mirror smooth lacquer enclosed in an artist made signed wooden box signed and dated Showa 60 (1985) and retaining the original exhibition tag on the back. The o-bon appears to be cut from Tocchi wood, a hardwood with a grain similar to oak. There is a tiger striped grain on the edge. Despiet the size it is not heavy, a feature of Tocchi wood.
