A large Amber glass Mizusashi enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Mizu Utsuwa by Japans top-rated female glass artists, Iwata Itoko. It has a black lacquered wooden lid typical of mizusashi, but a tremendous convoluted form in rich amber which defies simple description. An unusual black glass vase by one of Japans leading 20th century glassiers Iwata Hisatoshi (1925-1994) enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Ryumon. Ordinarily much brighter, this piece has a brooding presence. Rivers of blue flow over a molten black shadow, textured iron gray dividing the smooth surface.
