An early 20th century lacquered tea service tray for use with Chinese Sencha tea implements. The piece is made in the Kamakura-bori carving technique. Its leaves are covered in black and red lacquer hanging from a brown branch hiding three golden fruits with applied silver highlights. It is 6-1/2 by 12 by 3/4 inches (16 x 30 x 2 cm) and is in fine condition. Very much in the Art Deco Style, we place it from somewhere in the Taisho to early Showa period (1920-1940).
