A humble landscape is visible through the light of a crescent moon on this small two panel Byobu made for use in the Japanese Tea Ceremony. A thatch roofed village huddles in the cool blue night on one panel, visible with the negative light of shadow. The imagery has been hand dyed into the cloth, then mounted on this small screen.
