| A beautifully cast bronze oil lantern with square cage and unusual sliding door. It rises from the trumpeting base to flare under the cage, which is a separate piece. The top rushes upward to the sharp finial, overall a very elegant silhouette. The piece is roughly 16 inches (40 cm) tall and in perfect condition but for a ding in the top, as is visible in the last photo, and testament to its age, a small repair to what was likely a casting flaw is barely visible as a hammered in square of bronze, with the same dark patina (see the second to the last photo). | |||||||||||
