A milieu of color decorates the overall burnt red of this fine small Aka-Raku Chawan dating from the early 20th century. Yellow, black, green and olive cloud the hand built walls. Interesting about the glaze is its glassy surface, almost like a clear over-top of the color. From the kilns of Kyoto, it is stamped on the base Yoshinari, and measures 7.5 cm (3 inches) tall, 10.5 cm (4-1/4 inches) diameter and in excellent condition, and comes in a modern wooden box.
