CHINESE CERAMIC FIGURE OF A YOUNG MAN, SIGNED
An absolutely wild heavy ceramic figure modeled in the form of a trickster with dice, his coat tails flying in excitement as he hawks his game on the street. From the very lively expression to the numbers on the tiny dice and the wood grain on the bench, it is one of the most highly detailed non-porcelain figures I have yet seen. Inside the figure is an inset stamp that reads A Hero of Youthful Age, Hand Made by Lin Wai Tung. The figure stands 10-1/2 inches (26.5 cm) tall, 8 inches (20.3 cm) across the base and likely dates to the early 20th century.
