| This spectacular necklace was designed by Maison Gripoix for couturier, Jacques Fath. It is made from silver tone metal and has green glass "pate de verre" inserts surrounded by dazzling clear crystal rhinestones. It has a 3/4" x 3/4" box closure with 9 panels graduating from 3/4" x 3/4" to 1 1/2" x 1 1/2". It has a wearable length of 16" and is 4" wide in front with the center oval drop measuring 2 1/8" long x 1 3/4" wide. The dog tooth settings on the green glass have a small amount of verdi gris which is very common in this particular type of jewelry. Overall, I feel that the necklace is in excellent vintage condition. It has not markings like many couture pieces by Gripoix, but is signed "France" on the push pin closure. It originally belonged to actress/dancer Anne Miller, and includes an 8 x 10" photo of Ms. Miller wearing this necklace. Additional documentation on it's provenance is available. | |||||||||||
