| This delicately executed mountain landscape is signed and sealed by the Yi Dynasty Korean painter Lim Sam. Ink and slight color on silk, it dates to mid 19th century and depicts a warm country scene in front of a soaring forested mountain. A snug house with soft light in the windows suggests early evening and is apparently the destination of a lone figure on the back of a water buffalo crossing a small bridge. Fine ink lines and muted color produce a restful effect. A tone on tone silk mat and plain black rounded wood frame complement the painting, which is in excellent condition. Dimensions: height 56" (142 cm), width 18" 46 cm). | |||||||||||
