| Two peacocks perch smartly atop this early 20th century silver comb from the state of Rajasthan in North India. The handle is a reservoir for scented oil dispensed in small amounts as the comb is drawn through the hair. A cap between the peacocks screws out to allow the handle cavity to be filled. Etchings, each centered with a different flower and surrounded by foliage, cover both sides of the handle. The peacocks, Hindu symbol of immortality, give this unusual piece the regal Rajasthani look. It is in excellent condition with very slight wear on handle etchings. The comb is 92.5 percent silver and weighs 56 grams. Dimensions: height 2" (5 cm), width 3-1/2" (9 cm). | ||||||
