| This Chinese altar table has a depth of just over 11 inches and is 88 inches long, giving it a light and elegant look. Made of northern elm, it has a solid plank top and graceful carving. Tall ruyi are beautifully and simply carved on the outside and inside surfaces of the end trestles. Curved cloud spandrels on each leg echo the upward sweep of the everted flanges on either end of the plank top. Traces of opaque brown lacquer that once covered the entire table can still be seen on the warm gold surface of the wood. This 19th century piece is very solid and in excellent condition. Dimensions: height at table top 34-1/2" (88 cm), height at wings 36-1/2" (93 cm), width 88" (224 cm), depth 11" (28 cm). | ||||||||
