Our Specialty

Cannondale Antiques in Wilton, Connecticut specializes in traditional Japanese ceramics and Arts and Crafts era pottery, Chinese porcelain, and Western art pottery of Asian influence. Cannondale Antiques holds the country's largest collection of ceramics from Awaji Island, Japan, as well as a collection of related pottery from the city of Kyoto. These Japanese pottery styles are thought to have had a profound influence on the aesthetic and art pottery movements in the West. The Awaji pottery, known as Awaji ware, is admired for its bright colors, robust shapes, and creatively incised, painted, and applied decoration.
