Large and early Japanese Awaji Pottery incised iris vase by the Danto kiln. Spirited and exact carving of irises, decorated with brilliant translucent enamels. Hand thrown. Circa 1890. 14" high. Impressed Danto kiln mark. Excellent condition.

Good ivory netsuke of a bird resting on the ground. Eyes inset with dark wood or horn. Beautifully proportioned carving with fine detail and exquisite shading. 19th century. Incised mark on base. Very fine crack on underside.

Finely made Japanese Koro with double layer reticulated cover. Graceful shape standing high on three legs with sharply carved geometric border at shoulder mirroring reticulation on cover. Finely enameled floral decor, accented with beautiful gilt work. 19th century. Impressed and painted marks. 6 1/4" high. Excellent condition.

Large pair Japanese Kyoto ware vases. Tall and slender form with hexagonal body and flaring mouth with wide, vertical lip. Decorated with applied grape vines above and chrysanthemums below. Exotic elephant handles at neck. Covered with deep cobalt drip glaze over turquoise. Hand made. Circa 1900. 24" high. Unmarked. One vase with professional restoration to mouth.

Large hand thrown Japanese Awaji art pottery vase with incised irises. Tubular collar like neck supported by a small pair of squared off art deco handles. High and wide shoulder tapers down to a well defined foot. Decorated front and back with incised irises glazed blue and white on a deep green ground. Circa 1920. 14 1/2" high. Unmarked. One handle restored, short hair line at mouth sealed.
