Large Japanese Awaji pottery vase in brilliant turquoise glaze covered with split bamboo weaving in bold design with mix of thick and thin bamboo strips. Hand thrown pottery. Circa 1910. 12" high. Impressed export and kiln marks. Pottery in excellent condition, bamboo with some splitting.

Large pair Japanese Awaji pottery dragon lamps. Each with pair of finely modeled dragons chasing each other around the shoulder of the vase. One in green monochrome and the other with aubergine glaze around neck of vase. Lamps have been modified to electricity from kerosene. Hardware is not exactly matched. Hand made. Circa 1910. Pottery is 10" high, 14" wide. Lamps are 28" high overall. Pottery is unmarked. Condition is excellent.

Collection of Japanese Awaji pottery with split and woven bamboo. Mostly monochrome glazes. The pottery is hand thrown and overlaid with the reed that is hand split and woven. Circa 1910. Height of pottery (without lamp hardware) ranges from approximately 3" - 12". The weaving on these pieces is about 100 years old and is often brittle, but in overall excellent condition. Offered individually or as a collection.

English studio pottery vase by Martin Brothers with four snakes curling over the shoulder and biting the mouthrim to form handles. Hand thrown stoneware with carved, reticulated shoulder and dark, variegated, reptilian glaze. Incised date 1899 and signature "Martin Brothers, London and Southall." 8 3/4" high. Small chip and associated hairline on one handle have been professionally restored.
