Antique Japanese satsuma vase with matching fitted satsuma stand. Unusual to see one of these stands with original vase. Vase depicts seated figures on one side, butterflies on the other. Vase (on stand) measures 13.75" in height. Condition: Very good with a small chip to upper bottom rim of vase. Stand has two small chips on interior rim and one small enamel firing flaw.

Antique Japanese "horse eye" pottery plate. Dates from the Edo period. Ca.1800 (possibly older). Famous & well regarded type of mingei (folk art) Japanese piece. Overall crazing finish. Piece has typical wear from use (some chips to rim, some firing flaws, minor cracks to glaze, etc). These plates are rarely found in perfect condition as they were well used. Heavy in weight. Typical spur marks on surface. Diameter: 10". Height: 2".

Margins tend to get worn where pages were handled when print was kept in album form which also kept the color very fresh and relatively unfaded.
