An unusual antique Japanese oribe pottery candlestick depicting a foreigner (most likely a Dutch man). Ca. Late 18th/early 19th century. Piece has a small drawer (fully intact) for matches near it's base. Unusual coloring for oribe with no green glaze. Condition is very good. The cup on top of the figures head has some restoration. Otherwise condition is very good with some light crazing and minor wear. Height is 10.5".
