Good antique Japanese Meiji era Mino Yaki oribe tea mizusashi (water jar) for tea ceremony. ca.1868-1912. Cylindrical shape with string-cut bottom & lid. Decorative grooves along rim of base. rich, rustic honey-colored shadings accented by splash of heavy green glaze typical of Oribe. Spur marks on underside as well as artist/kiln mark. From the Mino region. Condition is excellent. height (including finial): 7.5". Top diameter: 5".
