It is very difficult to photo as the crystals, absorb light. They are all clear and void of any inclusions. All 17 rock crystal orbs have been triple wrapped in sterling bands. The enchanting beauty of rock crystal has made it a favorite for centuries, as it possesses the unique quality of absorbing and reflecting light. Unlike faceted crystal that can conceal defects, these orbs must have flawless crystals. The ancient Chinese and Japanese believed, that undrilled crystals had healing qualities. If drilled, all the goodness and magical powers would be lost, so they ingeniously wrapped them and connected one to the next. In this example, the beads are unusually large, measuring 2.15 cm and graduating to 1.35 cm. When worn, it is understated with a unique beauty, as it illuminates when you move. Worn with any color garment it reflects the color, but doesn't conflict. It is a staple in my own wardrobe, and probably one of my most frequently used pieces of jewelry.

The necklace measures 17.5 inches and terminates with a secure push clasp. The joining links are quite well done with a hinge mechanism that allows the necklace to drape well on the neck. It is in excellent condition. I have had very few of this quality and I have sold many of this form. Circa 1920 and beautiful.
