The Scottish jewelry is distinctive in its style and use of native stones. In this example, a traditional brooch has been inlaid with bloodstone and Burnanne agates and centered with a faceted cairngorm. The cairngorm is finely set with finely detailed prongs. The brooch has simple engraving, with the four corners highlighted with tiny gold balls typical of this period. It measures 1 3/4 inches. The reverse has all original mounts. The loop to attach a chain is hidden if it is worn as a brooch and it has been joined with a 14k 20th century box link chain. The condition is excellent.
