Victorian Gold Banded Agate Locket Circa 1860
It has been many years since I have had a gold locket of this quality. It is English , circa 1860 and rendered in 15k with a superior level of gold work, bearing that beautiful original patina associated with fine antique jewelry. Finely turned spirals of gold decorate the perimeter and visually connect the small banded agates. The bail too is a work of art with the same degree of detail as the pendant. The reverse is smooth to the touch and it too has a glorious original patina. The locket has a removable bezel and original glass which could house a personal photo if desired.

The locket with the bail is a graceful 1 6/8 inches long X 1 1/8 inches across. The locket alone measures 1 2/8 inches long. The scale is perfect for day or evening wear. I wear one very similar with gray, white or tweeds. It comes with a silk cord with custom 18k spring ring and cord caps. It can be worn with a Victorian gold collar or chain if desired, but is very dramatic with the cord. The condition is excellent/mint.

Rare to find, especially in this condition. Classical Victorian,English, circa 1860
