Elegant and timeless, this Georgian seed pearl necklace is circa 1820. Like grains of sand, these lustrous, natural seed pearls are strung on six strands and terminates with a glorious pink topaz gold clasp. The clasp is Georgian with a faceted rare pink topaz that is set in a hand crimped rub over collet. The stone has foil beneath it, which is characteristic of the period. The foil brings light and vibrancy to a stone that is closed in the back. It measures 16 inches and is beautiful with the clasp worn on the side of the neck. It has recently been restrung and is in excellent condition. England, circa 1820 |
