| The design and execution of this locket epitomizes the beauty of French jewelry. It has a finely detailed 18k bezel of pierced gold work, holding two faceted glass inserts. The bezel has an original, rich, yellow gold patina with scrolling ivy. The ivy is symbolic of timeless affection and friendship. The top of the locket unscrews and a photo can be inserted if desired. I love it worn as seen, because it is simple and elegant. The large size makes it most desirable as they are quite rare. The locket with the bale measures 1 1/2 inches long X 1 1/4 inches across. It comes with a black cord with a gold clasp. Condition is excellent. I haven't had one as lovely as this for many years.
