This wonderful large gold shield shaped locket is circa 1820. It has grace of form and is fully operational. The 15k locket locket opens, as pictured by opening the hasp of the padlock. This enables it to be use for a precious lock of hair, photo or dried flower. Or, wear it as I prefer, simply and elegantly empty. It measures a large 2 1/2 inches from the top "O" ring to the bottom padlock. This classical motif is completely original and quite rare to find with a working padlock. The condition is excellent as is are the original beveled glass inserts. It comes with an antique 15k chain measuring 18 inches long. Unique and beautiful....England, circa 1820 |
