The chain, formerly used as a watch chain, is 16 3/4 inches long X a bold 3/8 inch width. It has the original , secure closures which are also decorated with Niello. The overall condition is excellent with only slight wear commensurate with age. It has a silver mark of 800 (Continental silver) and a maker's mark. It is most likely French in origin. It drapes perfectly on the neck, and is a beautiful necklace worn alone, or joined with other niello chains for a dramatic look.
